Facials in Newmarket — Skin Wellness at BWell Lounge

There are plenty of places to get a facial in Newmarket. Day spas where you lie back and relax while someone applies a nice-smelling mask. Medspas that feel clinical and push you toward injectables. Both have their place, but neither is what BWell Lounge does.

At a glance01 / 08

We sit somewhere intentional in between.

Our facials are results-oriented and rooted in real skin science, but the experience feels warm, personal, and unhurried.

We call it skin wellness because that is what it actually is: caring for your skin as part of your overall health, not as a cosmetic afterthought.

Our esthetician is trained in advanced techniques including HADADO Japanese facial massage, and every treatment is tailored to what your skin actually needs right now, not what a standard protocol says.

Our Signature Advanced Treatment

This is the facial we get asked about the most, and the one that genuinely sets BWell apart from other facial providers in Newmarket and York Region.

The Japanese Lift Facial is built around HADADO, a master-level Japanese facial massage technique that translates to “the path to beautiful skin.” HADADO evolved from the ancient Kobido tradition but goes significantly deeper, combining nearly 100 manual techniques that work on your facial muscles, fascia, lymphatic system, and connective tissue simultaneously.

What that means in practice: this is not a surface-level massage with light strokes and essential oils. HADADO uses precise pressure, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, and deep tissue stimulation to create a visible lifting and sculpting effect without injectables, machines, or invasive procedures.

What the Japanese Lift Facial helps with:

  • Loss of facial definition and firmness
  • Fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the jaw, eyes, and forehead
  • Facial puffiness and fluid retention
  • Tension in the jaw (common with stress and clenching)
  • Dull, tired-looking skin that needs more than a standard facial
  • Anyone who wants a natural alternative to cosmetic procedures

Most clients notice a visible difference after a single session: tighter contours, brighter skin, a more sculpted jawline. A series of sessions produces cumulative, longer-lasting results.

Our esthetician is specifically trained in HADADO technique.

This is not something you will find at a chain spa or a typical esthetician’s studio in Newmarket. It requires specialized education and a level of manual skill that goes well beyond standard facial training.

When Your Skin Is Telling You Something

Here is what most facial providers in Newmarket won’t talk about: your skin is connected to everything else going on in your body.

It is not a separate system. It is a signal.

01

Stress shows up on your skin

Cortisol — the stress hormone — increases oil production, triggers inflammation, and breaks down collagen. That is why breakouts, redness, and premature aging often coincide with high-stress periods at work or at home. If you have been dealing with persistent skin issues and you are also managing stress or burnout, those two things are probably not a coincidence.

02

Hormonal shifts change your complexion

Fluctuations in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone affect everything from acne patterns to skin hydration to how quickly you heal. If your skin has been unpredictable and you suspect hormones are involved, that is exactly the kind of thing a naturopathic doctor can investigate while your esthetician works on the surface-level symptoms.

03

Nutrient depletion affects your skin from the inside out

Vitamin C, zinc, glutathione, and hydration all play direct roles in skin health. If topical products are not making enough of a difference, an IV drip can support your skin from the inside.

04

Chronic tension reshapes your face

Jaw clenching, teeth grinding, and facial muscle tension from stress don’t just cause headaches. They pull your facial structure out of alignment, contributing to an aged or strained appearance. Our gua sha and Japanese Lift facials address this directly through manual muscle release.

This is why BWell Lounge offers facials inside a wellness centre, not a standalone spa.

When your skin issue has a deeper cause, we have practitioners under the same roof who can help you address it. Not sure which service your skin needs? Start with a free consultation.

What to Expect at Your Facial Appointment

If you have never had a Facial before, here is what a typical session looks like at BWell Lounge.

  1. When You Book

Let us know about any skin concerns, allergies, sensitivities, or medications (like retinoids or blood thinners) that your esthetician should know about. This helps us prepare your treatment before you arrive.

  2. When You Arrive

Our space at 75 Dawson Manor Blvd Newmarket, ON L3X 2H5 is designed to feel calm and private. You will be settled into the treatment room, and your esthetician will do a brief skin assessment to confirm which products and techniques are right for your skin today.

  3. During Your Facial

Depending on the treatment, your session will run 45 to 75 minutes. Most facials include cleansing, exfoliation, targeted treatment, and hydration. The Japanese Lift and Gua Sha facials are more massage-intensive. You can close your eyes, relax, and let your esthetician work. If anything feels uncomfortable, say so — adjustments can always be made.

  4. After Your Facial

Your skin may look flushed or feel extra sensitive for a few hours, which is normal. Your esthetician will recommend aftercare and suggest a timeline for follow-up treatments based on your goals. Avoid heavy makeup, direct sun, and active ingredients (like retinol or acids) for 24 to 48 hours.

Why BWell06 / 08

Why Facials at a Wellness Centre Hit Different

Most facial clients in Newmarket are choosing between two options:

a spa

(relaxing but surface-level)

or a medspa

(results-driven but cold and clinical).

BWell Lounge

BWell is a third option that most people didn’t know existed.

When you get a facial at BWell Lounge, your care does not exist in a vacuum. If your esthetician notices that your skin issues might have a stress, hormonal, or nutritional component, they can recommend you speak with one of our other practitioners — a psychotherapist, a naturopathic doctor, or suggest IV therapy to support your skin health from the inside.

This isn’t something that happens at Hand & Stone. It doesn’t happen at a solo esthetician’s home studio. And it certainly doesn’t happen at a medspa that is focused on upselling you on injectables.

BWell’s model is simple: your skin is part of your body, your body is affected by your mind, and all of it deserves coordinated care. That is what our wellness services are built around.

FAQ08 / 08

Frequently Asked Questions

Which facial should I start with if I’ve never had one before?

The BWell Signature Facial at $129 is designed for exactly this. It covers all the fundamentals — cleansing, exfoliation, extraction if needed, and hydration — and gives your esthetician a chance to assess your skin and recommend a plan going forward. Think of it as a starting point, not a basic option.

What is HADADO, and why is the Japanese Lift Facial different from a regular facial?

HADADO is a master-level Japanese facial massage technique that works on deep facial muscles, fascia, and lymphatic flow using nearly 100 manual techniques. It produces a visible lifting and sculpting effect without machines or injections. A regular facial focuses on the skin’s surface. The Japanese Lift Facial works on the underlying structure of your face. It’s a non-invasive natural alternative to cosmetic procedures, and BWell is one of the few places in York Region offering it.

Does dermaplaning hurt?

No. Dermaplaning uses a surgical-grade blade held at a precise angle to gently remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz. Most clients describe it as a light scratching sensation. There is no downtime, and your skin will feel noticeably smoother immediately after.

How long do the results last?

It depends on the facial. A hydration or signature facial will leave your skin glowing for several days to a week. Dermaplaning results last 3 to 4 weeks before fine hair regrows. The Japanese Lift Facial produces immediate visible lifting, with cumulative results building over a series of 4 to 6 sessions. Regular treatments maintain long-term results.

Can I get a facial if I have acne or sensitive skin?

Yes. Your esthetician will assess your skin before starting and adjust the treatment accordingly. Some facials (like the Advanced Renewal or Signature) can be customized for acne-prone skin. If you have active cystic acne or a skin condition that requires medical attention, we may recommend seeing a naturopathic doctor or dermatologist first.

Can I combine a facial with other services at BWell on the same day?

Yes, and many clients do. A popular combination is a gua sha or Japanese Lift facial with a massage therapy session for a full tension-release experience. Some clients pair a hydration facial with an IV drip for inside-out skin support. Let us know when you book and we can schedule back-to-back.

What should I avoid before and after a facial?

Before: skip retinoids, chemical exfoliants, and heavy actives for 48 hours. Avoid sunburn. After: skip makeup for the rest of the day if possible, stay out of direct sun, and avoid retinol, AHAs, and BHAs for 24 to 48 hours. Your esthetician will give you specific aftercare instructions based on your treatment.

Do you offer packages or a series discount for the Japanese Lift Facial?

Contact us at 416-667-1552 or ask during your free consultation about series pricing for clients who want to commit to a course of Japanese Lift treatments for cumulative results.
